Government Accreditation of our Graduate Certificate in Neuro-Linguistic Programming FAQ

1. What is the Graduate Certificate in Neuro-Linguistic Programming?

The Graduate Certificate in Neuro-Linguistic Programming is a formal nationally (in Australia) recognised qualification in the discipline of Neuro-Linguistic Programming. It is the World's first fully-accredited post-graduate qualification in NLP.

2. For what purposes have we created a Graduate Certificate in Neuro-Linguistic Programming?

a). As NLP is a relatively new field of study it is time for a formal qualification in the discipline. NLP is now becoming well known and there is a need for high quality qualifications and worthwhile standards that reflect the contribution that NLP makes to peoples lives.

b). Since NLP's inception by Dr. John Grinder and Richard Bandler in 1975, there has been a general and gradual decline in the standards for and the quality of NLP Practitioners and Master Practitioners world-wide. It has become increasingly difficult for people wanting NLP training to know how to choose a reputable training organisation. For too long there have been 'cowboys' in the NLP community offering very short trainings marketed as practitioner certification. This accredited qualification is part of an effort to provide a quality benchmark for NLP as a profession.

c). Many professionals (psychologists, doctors, nurses, human resource people, managers, corporate presenters, teachers, solicitors, consultants) want a quality graduate qualification in NLP to add to their degree/s. This is a fully-acredited post graduate qualification for furthering your career that will indicate that you have reached a comprehensive level of competence in NLP technology.

3. Does this training meet international standards for NLP?

Yes. It meets the standards of major NLP associations such as the Association of NLP in the UK and the National Association for NLP in the United States. Further it incorporates assessment criteria for Grinder and DeLoziers new code NLP as well as elaborating assessment criteria for classic Neuro-Linguistic Programming material. We have made sure that the course content is strictly NLP. Certain content that is not NLP and is being taught by some NLP training organisations has been excluded deliberately.

This post-graduate qualification sets the standard for NLP training qualifications world-wide

4. Who would benefit from completing this NLP qualification?

Anybody who wants a rigourous, comprehensive and quality training in NLP. Anybody whose work critically depends on the quality and effectiveness of their communication with others. Anybody who wants to develop their thinking skills in terms of decision making, learning, memory, motivation and creativity. Anybody who wants new choices emotionally. Anybody who wants to enhance the career they already have or is looking for a new career such as life coaching. Anybody intending to work as a NLP professional or desires to become a NLP trainer.

5. What makes Chris and Jules Collingwood uniquely qualified for developing the Graduate Certificate in Neuro-Linguistic Programming?

As well as having been learning NLP for years (Chris since 1980 and Jules 1986) both have been fortunate to have studied with major figures in the NLP community.

These include Dr. John Grinder (co-creator of NLP and new code NLP), Judith DeLozier (co-creator of new code NLP), and significant contributors to NLP, Robert Dilts, the late Todd Epstein, the late David Gaster, Connirae Andreas (co-developed mental timelines), Lara Ewing (NLP negotiation patterns), Charlotte Bretto (NLP negotiation patterns) and Dr. Stephen Gilligan.

Chris and Jules have taught NLP Practitioner and Master Practitioner certification for many years and have continued to update their own studies regularly. Chris and Jules sponsor trainers who are significant contributors to the NLP community bringing them to Australia.

Field Guide coverThey have written an NLP text, "The NLP Field Guide; Part 1. A reference manual of practitioner level patterns". With the preface by Dr. John Grinder Co-creator of NLP and partner Carmen Bostic St Clair.

6. I live in the United States of America, is there an advantage to me in coming to Sydney Australia to do the Graduate Certificate in Neuro-Linguistic Programming?

Yes. In fact there are a number of advantages in you coming to Australia to do the training.

a). Stepping out of your own cultural environment. This can give you a unique perspective on your own cultural assumptions and aid in examining your own patterns of behaviour - a prerequisite for evolving yourself. I find being in another country with its different culture and sometimes different language helps me get a fresh perspective on my life, lifestyle and cultural assumptions.

b). We have a three week intensive training every January in Sydney, in beautiful summer weather. Participants have an opportunity to enjoy all that Sydney has to offer in terms of culture (the arts festival), sports and recreation (great beaches, harbour etc.), excellent restaurants and hospitable Sydneysiders. You can get a great qualification in NLP and have a wonderful holiday in Australia at the same time!

c). For people who hold US Dollars, British Pounds and some other currencies the Australian dollar is very much in your favour. For many, training with us in Australia is advantageous when compared to doing a NLP practitioner training in your own country.

7. Do I have to come to Sydney to do the Accredited Course in Graduate Certificate in Neuro-Linguistic Programming training?

No. There are opportunities for NLP Institutes and seminar organisations to sponsor the accredited Graduate Certificate in Neuro-Linguistic Programming in your city. If you want to sponsor us in your city please E-mail Chris or Jules. We also teach the accredited Graduate Certificate in Neuro-Linguistic Programming in Brisbane and LeaderVison teaches the accredited Graduate Certificate in Neuro-Linguistic Programming in Melbourne.
